“ Great Amish store with plenty of variety along with organic produce. Great prices too! ”
“ Fresh foods and natural supplements are their forte. Smack dab in the middle of a farm is their location. It is the largest store of it's type that I have seen. If you are in the area, its worth a look. ”
“ I could have spent countless hours here ! Great quality, fabulous selection. Clean clean clean .... a great find ! ”
“ We like to travel the backroads while in Lancaster and somewhat stumbled upon this place years and years ago. The staff has always been friendly and their stock plentiful. To be honest, my main reason to stop by is their collection of various honeys. They come in different size jars and are priced considerably lower than I have seen almost anywhere. If in the area, it's worth a look. Note - Cash or Check only. ”
“ Amish run all natural health food store. They have a great selection organic and skin care products. Our favorites are the Extreme Lavender & Vanilla Cream Body Spread & Butter and the Raw Honey & Tea Tree Shampoo. There is a end cap wood display full of wonderful natural beauty products! ”
“ I love Amish milled grits! So, while passing through this area, I decided to stop to buy some. Well, NO GRITS! BUT, the store was wonderful and had so many healthy foods and supplements to offer. They also have a great selection of books to aid one in their quest for a healthy life. Then I found the peanut and almond butter samples! OH MY GOODNESS! I have never tasted nut butters as good as this. I am so glad I bought some and wish I could get this quality in Northern California where I live. It is great just eating it off a spoon, but I plan to eat it with celery and apples too. Crunchy goodness! Their fresh produce looked wonderful. I'm sure that is even better in summer. I bought Blackstrap molasses - a very large jar - for about $2.50. This is a great source of flavor and a natural source of iron and other minerals. I highly recommend this store, particularly if you're health minded. They've been in business for 50 years. The Amish ladies that were staffing the store were very cordial. If you go, they only accept cash and checks. My check was from out of state and my ID was not requested - only my phone number. I'll be back in this area in July and will definitely stop in to check out the produce and to replenish my nut butter supply. ”
“ I really like this store for a number of reasons. Of course it's no where as 'impressive' as places like whole foods or wegmans, but for many people it's closer, and i really enjoy the 'amish' aspect of it. It is situated next an amish household / farm (??). It is amish run and caters to the amish, though everyone is welcome. while i was there, there were two horse and buggies parked outside. The place has a wide variety of healthy foods, including organic, gluten free, and other varieties. as well as other homeopathic remedies. I love that they have local honeys, cheese and other dairy products. I was even surprised when i found Fenugreek in their spice aisle as i was unable to find this spice at the other local chain grocery stores, including wegman's. This place is very charming, and i enjoy supporting 'local' community businesses when i can. For people that enjoy the idea of doing good for ourselves and the enviroment (by choosing natural/organic over chemical laden products) or people that that want to rub elbows with the amish, this is a great experience. Definitely a place i will continue to go back to. ”
“ Love this place! Much improved since they moved into a new ELECTRIC building. They now have a refrigerated room full of fresh produce and bulk items. Their selection of bulk goods is great ! Prices are very reasonable throughout the store.A lot of hard to fine health food items. This place is a must stop for anyone who loves natural/organic foods and doesn't want to pay Whole Food prices. ”
“ This Amish-run supermarket/ farmer's market / health-food specialty store is absolutely unparalleled in the entire U.S. for its combination of selection, quality, and price. The place uses no electricity, relying on skylights and natural-gas powered lamps and refrigerators. The selection of organic produce, nuts, and cereals is amazing. Prices are very low. You pay a little more for organic stuff, but much of it is cheaper here than the mass-produced stuff is in a supermarket. Also, much of the stuff sold here is locally produced. A lot of the food is rather minimal on the packaging so you won't be throwing out as much plastic and cardboard. From an environmental perspective, this store gets an A+. The selection of "alternative" foods is also unparalleled. This is a great place for someone with a wheat allergy or gluten intolerance, as well as people who simply enjoy unusual grains such as millet, quinoa, or teff. Not only can you buy such grains and flours here, but you can also buy a variety of cereals and other products made of such things. There are a lot of herbal teas and various alternative medicinal products, hard-to-find juices, etc. The cheese and meat selection, while skewed towards the Pennsylvania-German style, is also outstanding. I simply can't speak more highly about this place. I wish there were a store like this in every city. But I guess, there isn't, because this store relies directly on the presence of the traditional Amish farming in the region. Enjoy it, folks! ”
